Trade Mania 2019, Part 1- Draft Frenzy

Image
With the limit officially abolished in this post-keeper league. Owners have wasted no time shipping their players around. From freshly-drafted to keeper, nobody is safe. Adding draft picks into the mix has added a new element, that, as Nauch said, is going to make the deadline very fun. Including the Chubb-Bell and Ant-Gio draft trades, there have been 8 so far before a snap of preseason football has even been played, this will definitely keep me busy lol. Here is the analysis of what's gone on around the league so far. Phase 1- Testing the Waters Analysis: After holding out all of last season and still being tagged, Nauch finally grants Bell his request for a trade and sends him to his former team with Chuck, where he last won a ring. Nauch gets back the presumptive RB1 for the new-look Browns, at least until Kareem Hunt comes back into the picture. Winner: "Shrimp Bayless"'s play count on Apple Music Loser: Nauch unfortunately, Chubb is gonna do well but the...

Draft Grades

EDITOR'S NOTE: Sorry this is late, It's been a tough scene at work but at least Saturday is quiet. Come time for the regular season I will do whatever it takes to be more timely. After what seems like an eternal offseason of me making false promises of providing content, the blog finally has a purpose besides advancing my own agendas or trolling. The 2019 draft came and went with a lot of drama and booze to boot. This draft had a lot of firsts; this was the first draft on the new Sleeper platform, the first draft as a keeper league, and the first draft that Roberto bothered to show up for. This made draft night quite the spectacle both on and off the app, with a slew of trades happening during and immediately after the draft. Here are draft grades, in order of picks. FYI- this only takes into account trades made before and during the draft. Trade analysis for everything else will be in tomorrow's post. 1. Roberto Roberto finally shows up to a draft... solely to m...

Introducing Our Newest Owner

Image
Hello League. I hope you have had enough time to mourn the loss of Weeg as a member of the fantasy football community, he is on to actually having a life from September to February. However, the show must go on, and Chuckie and I worked diligently to get this vacancy filled before the draft on the 21st.  Thanks to leaks by the other commissioner, most of the league was aware that this new owner was going to be somebody related to me. Some (Jonathan) speculated it was my brother, but sir you are  WRONG.  Indeed this new owner is my relative; Some of you do know him from being at my house, but to those who don't, allow this to be your introduction. Alex Chinchilla Age: 22 Hails From: South Central LA, born and raised Twitter/Insta: @Chin_Zilla Allegiances: LA Rams (prev Denver Broncos), Brooklyn Nets, CSULB 49ers Fantasy Seasons Played: 2 Chips: "First season I got third place, that was it" Skill Sets/Intangibles: Veteran Stoner, Life...

My Next Chapter

Image
This has been by far the most challenging few days in my life as an NBA fan. I understood cognitively that I was facing a crossroads in my evolution as a fan of sports, and that it came with exceptionally difficult choices. What I didn’t truly understand, however, was the range of emotions I would feel during this process. With this in mind, I have decided that I am going to join the Portland Trail Blazers. I’m from Rialto originally, but being surrounded by Laker fans truly raised me. It taught me so much about arrogance as well as what it means to be entitled. There are no words to express what my Laker fan friends and the group chat mean to me, and what they will represent in my life and in my heart forever. The memories and friendships are something that go far beyond trolling. It really pains me to know that I will disappoint so many people with this choice, but I believe I am doing what I feel is the right thing at this point in my life and my fan career. The Blazers, to m...

In Memoriam: Jose "Weege" Ortiz-Jose

IN MEMORIAM WEEGE ORTIZ, Owner, 3Fiddy The Rialto Porch Monkeys lost one of its founding members today at the age of 24. Weege succumbed to a long battle with cheapasstitis Wednesday morning. While he never could lead his squad to the playoffs, or a winning record, Weege's presence brought peace and happiness to the other members of the League, knowing that we had insurance from falling into last place. Weege is survived by his owner Amarilyz and left no legitimate children.
