ACCC Press Release: Official Rule Changes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
11/20/2018
Official Rule Changes Voted On 11/18/2018
The following rule changes were adopted on Sunday, November 18, during an official league meeting with the minimum of 2/3 of league members in attendance (7), with the only absent owners being Hurtado, Joe and Roberto. All rules were passed with 6 votes from the owners in attendance. Unless otherwise stated, these rules do not go into effect until the official start of the offseason on January 1, 2019.
Rule Changes:
1. The league has officially adopted the keeper format for the 2019 season, meaning that:
- Current rosters will remain intact from the beginning of the offseason until the keeper deadline, which will be set during the Offseason Owners' Meeting
- Each team will be required to keep one (1) player on their roster past the keeper deadline in exchange for forfeiting their first round pick. Each team may keep up to three (3) players on their roster past the deadline, but will have to forfeit their second and third-round picks. Any owners that do not keep a second or third player will get to keep their respective draft picks.
- Draft picks may be traded starting on 1/1/2019, ALL draft picks traded must be noted on the ESPN message boards, the commissioner will set up a post for this before the start of the offseason. Draft picks may be traded up until they are used on draft day (date TBD in Offseason Meeting).
- Effective immediately, any free agents currently on Injured Reserve may not be added to a roster until the 2019 draft. Any players on IR that are on a team's roster may be kept by their owner.
2. Effective 1/1/19, the trade limit has been abolished and trades are now unlimited. The trade deadline has been set to be on the same day as the NFL trade deadline.
3. In order to increase strategy and curb excessive acquisitions, the waiver system has been changed for the 2019 season. Waiver order will no longer reset every week depending on standings, but instead, after a team makes a waiver selection they are shifted to the last waiver position. This will only apply to Waiver Claims and NOT free agent pickups (if a player clears waivers and the add button is green instead of yellow, your waiver priority will NOT be affected)
4. Starting in the 2019 season, all teams will be in one division due to our smaller league size.
5. Starting in the 2019 season, the amount of teams that qualify for playoffs will be reduced to six (6) instead of eight (8). Two (2) bye weeks will be given to the top two teams based on record.
6. In the event that an owner drops out of the league, the replacement owner will still be subject to the rules and actions of the previous owner, including keepers and draft pick trades.
7. Starting the 2019 draft, fantasy rosters will change to be: 1QB; 2RB; 3WR; 1TE; 1FLEX; 1DEF; 1DP; 1K; 1IR; 6Bench
8. The league has tentatively agreed to install an independent arbitrator to asses fines for "dumb shit" committed by league owners. The arbitrator must be voted in by 2/3 majority. We can further figure this out in the Offseason meeting.
9. The commissioner can be put on impeachment trial with the votes of 5 owners. Once he has had a fair trial to hear both cases, we may vote to remove him with the votes of 8 owners.
